Federal Government accepts to establish port for ondo

Ondo State Commissioner for Information,
Kayode Akinmade has revealed that the
Federal Government has given approval for the
establishment of an inland port at river Alape,
in Ilaje Local Government Area, of the state.
Mr. Akinmade who gave the hint in Akure, the
state capital while fielding questions from
journalists said the approval was accepted and
announced at the 14th National Council on
Transport meeting in Enugu.
He disclosed that the final approval for the
establishment of the port came after the
resolution of the members of the National
Council at their plenary session in the
meeting.
The commissioner added that the decision of
the FG to establish the port at the river Alape
was hinged on its transportation and
empowerment potential.
