President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, 10th of December, was
among the dignitaries that attended the funeral service of late Mathieu
Kerekou, the former President of the Republic of Benin. The service held in the
country’s capital, Cotonou.
Buhari who spoke on behalf of other African leaders,
described late Kerekou as, “a father of his nation and founding father of the
Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).” He described the late
General as a leader who was loved by his people and advocated for international
cooperation, who will be greatly missed within and outside Benin Republic. See more
